Every year carmakers go head to head with the industry giants, trying to knock them off their mantle, and until recently, only two companies had anything that looked good. Now with the likes of Audi and Lexus setting the standards, its no wonder that Mercedes-Benz and BMW have changed their design language so quickly within the past few years. Now with Audi being the big guy on top, it’s a wonder at how the next couple of years are going to look. It's odd to think that this years winner has not been at the fore front of luxury design in over 20 years, but that could have to do with who was their previous owners. When trying to stay on top as well as rebuild their own luxury mark, Ford was never the best influence on this years A+. But with new owners, and a brand new look the 2009 Jaguar XF has set the world on fire. With its cat like look and sleek lines, the XF really shows what a true sedan can be. Although the concept version was more aggressive than the actual car, it still retains that cat like appearance. It seems that Jaguar has set another benchmark within the automotive world, one not seen since its last great achievement the XJ220. Now everyone knows what happened to Old Yeller when he went off for his last walk in the woods. Its too bad no one has done that to this year’s winner of the Rusty. For the past 20 years this car has barely made any major changes, minus some plastic surgery to make it look younger. Although its younger brother has had a major overhaul, which helped keep this car company alive, it would be nice to see this car completely overhauled. Chip Foose where are you. So for this year AutoLooks named the 2009 Saab 9-5 the Rusty. This car has no real personality or anything really to offer its consumers. The greatest thing about this car is what is under the hood. Nothing on the outside really stands out and really; this design was boring back in the late 80’s.
