2010 Acura MDX design review

2010 Acura MDX
When you have a winning design why would you ever think to change it.  Well for starters that winning design you speak of is over eight years old and second its time to move your model a bit higher up the mid-size category.  With its first generation now behind us its now time to look at the 2010 Acura MDX.

For starters the first generation was a well-done design, but it seems that Acura has left all that sporty attitude behind us and left us with an unusual box.  Now this is a fairly nice-looking box, but it’s a box which could have been so much more.  The front of the MDX is relatively appealing but if you look at the bottom you will see where this design was split in two.  Now I say this because the bottom air was done very well, then someone had the bright idea to dump some fog lights a center duct into the picture.

The designer who changes this design must have been fresh out of high school.  They could have easily added some side mounted fog lights to the lower ducts and done away with the centre one.  Next Acura still needs to remove that horrible looking bar on the grille.  This is one new design feature which still seems a bad move.  And lastly, someone should explain to Acura that if you are going to add some bling to your ride, then maybe you should do it in the right way, not the cheap way.
