2010 Coupe & Convertible design ratings

G6 convertible
It never fails, just when you think that two door models are dead, someone has to build a new one.  And this year we have one new entry into the coupe category.  Being a small segment, it may seem hard to believe that people still want two door cars.  The problem is that companies don’t believe that people want a two-door car to drive to work.  Or a
small convertible to go and cruise the beach with.

This segment seems to be getting smaller by the year, and the one main problem is that more and more people are embracing the four-door coupe, or an aftermarket four door sedan.  Its hard to see that when Honda made a four door Civic SI last year, that some people might just get one so that they are prepared when their friends come along.  I just say, make them suffer in the small back seats of a coupe and the wind in their hair may wake them up before the puke in your backseat.

Well have you ever seen such a lonely bunch of cars in your life.  Well other than my driveway, not really.  But when it all comes down to it, it just seems a waste that more companies are not building coupes anymore.  I really think more people would purchase coupes, if better cars had them.  For instance, wouldn’t you want a Fusion, Lancer, Impreza or even a Mazda 6 coupe.  I know I would.

Well, if bad cars could be graded with everyone then none of these cars would win, but in this case, there is a winner and loser.  Our winner this year may have been one car that it may fun of a lot, but still, it does have a lot more appeal then the other two.  And for that we name the 2010 Mazda MX-5/Miata the AutoLooks A+ winner.  This car won for its role, in keeping the roadster alive and well into the next decade.  Now for our lower performing car, we have to name the dying 2010 Pontiac G6 the Rusty car of the year.  Being its last year of sales, you would think if any changes were made you make them count, but not if your GM.
