2019 SsangYong Musso - Mid-Size CUT (crossover utility truck)
The day has come for the Ridgeline to step aside and make way for a true CUT. Sure the new Musso is not and actual CUT, but it still looks like one.
As SsangYong has progressed over the years it seems that so have their designs. And the new Musso which replaces the Korando Sports is no exception. It still retains the appeal of a SsangYong while giving the brand a bit more luxury feel.
No we are not saying that the new Musso is a luxury truck to compete with the likes of the X-Class. But it could become a good competitor for the Ridgeline or Canyon Denali. But besides the feel of luxury, the new Musso still has a few things going for it.
The integration of large wheel arches does add to the aftermarket appeal. But this does create a wide stance that some may think is not good for off-roading. And let's face it, that's what trucks are suppose to do.
One great thing about this truck in particular, is that fact that it does not go overboard on the plastic body cladding. This is something that we see from a lot of the entry level trucks out there. But I guess when it's not a CUT, it isn't in need of cheap plastic.
One great thing that SsangYong did do for this model, was add on the right size and design of wheels. Sure they can be seen as a bit overboard on size, but for us city dwellers this gives a better look.
From all sides, the new Musso is one great looking truck which is going to change a few peoples perception on Korean trucks. And hey it may even change the North American view on Korean trucks.
