2015 Geneva Auto Show

Aston Martin DBX
Well it seems that 2015 is the year of reinvention and rejuvenation.  This year it seems that some of the biggest players decided to showcase some of the new models in their concept form.  Yes concepts can be just fancy was of showcasing new models without making you aware that they are new models.  Sure you may think new EXP-10 or DBX models may be concepts, but Aston is working on a cross-trex / CUV model and Bentley does want a supercar.

Get the grille out.

Future of the grille for the automotive industry.

50's grille
During the days of chrome and tail fins, the 1950’s had one other thing on this generation.  A need for the largest chrome grille on the market.  But as those days gave way to the 60’s, so did the need for large oversized front grilles.  Well that’s not to say that the 60’s didn’t have their fair share of oversize grilles, but they weren’t as prominent as they were during the 50’s.

2018 Canadian International Auto Show (Toronto)

Alfa Model
The darkness at 5:00am is great way to hide all of the ice which was created the night before by the freezing rain.  But that wasn't going to stop us from proceeding to CIAS this year.  And no if your wondering I did not fall on my ass on my way to my vehicle.  But I did come close.
That morning I had set my alarm to wake me up at 4:30 to ensure I was up in time to make the 4.5hr trip to down to Hogtown.  Yes you may say I'm crazy for travelling 9 hours in one day for a show, but it's worth the day off work.

2017 Canadian International Auto Show (Toronto)

Picture
Through the fog and light drizzle.  Past the high priced gas and Tim Horton's, brought us to gridlock and one of the most sophisticated toll roads in North America.  After which we decided to bypass the main 400 series highways and the QEW to bring us to beautiful Lakeshore Blvd.
Which in turn brought us to the parking garage just under the Steam Whistle Brewery.  Yes we had finally made it after just over 4 hours of travelling, but in turn we would not be disappointed.

Has Chrysler fallen too far?

Has Chrysler fallen to far to get back up again?

300
It may seem that all not that long ago there lived an American car company who made people sit at the edge of their seats when they released a new model.  These days that same company gets no one to sit at the edge, hell they don't really get people sitting anymore.  Most of us these days don't really care about the 3rd American automotive brand Chrysler.

Seems Chevrolet is Copying Dodge......Again

Camaro RedLine
Found something odd while taking a look at the SEMA and Geneva auto shows.  It seems that Chevrolet is on a path to ruin Dodge's brand identity.  Why might you ask that we are saying this.  Well take a look at the new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and you may see the Dodge logo on the side of the hood.

FCA in CopyCat Mode

Alfa Romeo Guilia
Seems that the Chinese maybe invading the home of FCA.  No it's not a political or commercial invasion, but an automotive design language which is invading the home of FCA.  This is now becoming apparent in their new models, as some of their past releases are

No this is not a joke, this is Scion's new sedan the iA.  If you are wondering why it looks familiar, then take a look at a Mazda 2 and you will see where this ride comes from.  If you think the frog Nissan Juke was a cool take on an animal, then you might be into the new fish face iA, as it takes the fish look to the next level.

2006 Lamborghini Miura concept

It seems that the retro craze is still not over, well at least from a design standpoint.  Even when Lamborghini said they would never bring back any past models.  Seems that they have broken their promise, well at least to the die hard fans they have. But unlike breaking a promise to your kids, this is a promise that was worth breaking.

Death call for the V8's in the V8 Supercar series

Nissan Altima V8 Supercar
It may not be a world racing series, or even one which can be seen by anyone on their local network.  But when you consider that it is one of the biggest V8 racing series in Oceania area of the world, then you might reconsider your thoughts about this coming attack.  It seems that rival cars from Japan, Germany and the United States are making inroads into this series.  This might not seem like an attack, but when you consider that the Nissan Altima does not come with a V8 then it starts to look like one.
