Podcast Episode: 0209
What are the real makes of cars vehicles?

The Cars of Cars
How did Pixar come up with all of the products from the Cars movie?  AutoLooks takes a look at which cars they used and how they blended a few others to make some seem like originals.

Pixar did a wonderful job bringing to life a world run by automobiles, but is it odd that only the past products are made of up cars which exist in our world.  This may seem true, but in all reality it is not, at Pixar did utilize real world cars for nearly every part of the cars universe.  From Mater to Lightning, every product was influenced from vehicle in the real world.  Some may be harder to pinpoint, but they all have some inspiration from real products in them.

When you are making a movie about the automotive world, it would be best to include products from the real world.  But what do you do about the original products you want to create?  Like most great designers out there, inspiration can come from anywhere and with the Cars movie it still came from the automotive world.  But why did they try to hide all of these newer cars from us?  That is where AutoLooks comes in.

Follow us as we dive deep into the world of Cars, to unlock what real life versions make up the products from the movies.  You may be surprised to learn what products are actually hiding underneath your favourite car.
