Why do auto companies create siblings?

Sibling Rivalry - autolooks
Why do siblings have to fight with each other, can't they all just get along.  Even in the automotive world this isn't true and the reasons behind internal siblings is deeper than you think.  Follow AutoLooks as we take a look at why companies create sibling rivalries and their overall benefits to both companies involved.

Siblings never really like each other, as they are always vying for approval from their parents.  But what happens when they have to compete for market share together?  This is what happens in the automotive family and sibling rivalries are famous for bringing families closer together.  But why do companies do it?

It seems odd to pit two sibling companies against each other, but when it comes to owning more of the market, this seems like a plausible excuse.  But over time this bitter dispute can take its toll on the family tree, with one eventual winner coming out on top.  So, why do companies still create sibling rivalries today?

Follow AutoLooks, as we take a look at why companies do this and why they are still doing this.
