2025 A+ Awards

and the 2025 a+ award winner is.....

Picture
This company just can't stay off our list, as they have won this award before and have made it on the top list as well.  With a shorter past than companies like Lamborghini and Ferrari, they have managed to win over more design awards for their limited amount of products and 2025 is not going to change that.
2024 was a year of despair as we shaved off 70% of the A+ awards given out.  2022 may have seen a 2% increase, but 2024 was the fall we were all waiting for, as the best designs in the world would eventually fall as we move closer to our inevitable dooms day for the internal combustion engine.
With 2030 creeping closer, we were not surprised to see a fall from our top designs, as more companies put an emphasis on dropping there overall carbon impact to meet the new regulations coming into effect soon.  More countries are stepping up their game when it comes to emissions control and with the push for more EV's in the worlds largest automotive marketplace, China, it was just a matter of time before design took a back seat to fuel economy again.

Similar to the fall of designs in the 80's, our better designs are few and far between.  But that doesn't mean that they won't exist in our automotive future.  And with a few companies choosing design over fuel economy, we will still see some great designs in our future.
Similar to the 80's, the top spot of the design charts will only be held by two markets.  High Performance and the Sports-GT segments.  These are where a usual winners come from, but with a slide in the mid-range design formula, this will be the only place which produces our amazing designs for the near future.

But all is not lost, as there could be hope for our road going public in the future, as the top tier is where most technology breakthroughs come from.  With Rimac's Nevera R EV making the list alongside the Maserati MCXtrema, there is hope for a future with new powertrains with lower overall emissions.  Eventually this will make its way down the food chain, as our standard products will eventually gain this knowledge.  And as the price drops for this tech, we will start to see better designs in the future.

So, don't lose hope that we are in a downward spiral in the design world.  As we learn how to incorporate better technology into our vehicles and its overall price drops, our designs will eventually spring back to life.  Lets just hope it doesn't take a decade of bland products to get there.

2025 AUTOLOOKS A+ AWARD WINNER IS........
It was a winner from the start as Zenvo gave us their new products which would take us into the future.  Similar to how the ST1 brought us out of our bland rut in the early teen years, the new Aurora models are doing this again.
With a design which takes you into a better designed future, Zenvo has once again broken the mold when it comes to automotive design.  Not just borrowing design elements from past winners, but setting the stage for new ones, as they incorporate more from what they learned at the track and apply it to their road cars.  It's base form may seem familiar to you, but that is where things change for the better as Zenvo takes you into the best light show in the world.
The name speaks for what the car will show you, as you see the Aurora through its massive front window as you peer into a future of better designs.  We are glad to see what Zenvo can do once again and we look forward to a future of better designs.
