what character were you going for?

​    The 2026 Character Awards are in and who has won one this year? 
    Character are awarded to companies who have novel character features on a product.  This could be a face of a frog, outline of snake or a hidden logo from pop culture.  Anything that makes you stand out from the crowd and keeps people thinking "Did they just do that".

2025 Hyundai Verna

Zorro strikes again!

      Zorro must hang out with Hyundai, as it seems every year we find his insignia on one of there new vehicles.  Guess when you build a few products in Mexico, your bound to be marked by Zorro.

​2026 Aishang A100CC

​Just another cute anime character. Awwww!

      Anime may come from Japan, but on the other side of the East China Sea, its making is mark on Chinese automobiles.  Aishang is new to the world of cars, but didn't want to go unnoticed.  Using a grumpy Anime face to position itself out from the market is a great way to stand out from the rest of the crowd.  And if all 

​goes good, maybe it won't be so grumpy next time.

​2026 Axiam Mega

Here to either save of destroy our planet from Cybertron.

      Axiam may not be your run of the mill city car name, but there new Mega e-Scouty will sure make its mark.  borrowing some design cues from Cybertron, this city runabout, is sure to turn some heads as it proves that the Megatron is here to stay.

​2026 Arrera TSX

Fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads.

     Who doesn't like fish heads!  Well maybe Bart Simpsons twin didn't like them.  But that didn't stop Arrera from releasing its fish faced TSX sports car.  It may appear to be smiling fish faced car, but that still doesn't make it less of a car.

​2026 Citroen C5 Aircross

Step into a new Citroen was taken to a new level.

     Most of us have either seen or heard of steps on truck boxes.  These are added to make accessing material easier.  But what is the reason for stepped lights?  Seems Citroen thinks these are a good idea, as lighted steps are safer for visibility in your home.  But what about your car?  Maybe it will help with tailgaters, or maybe it will 

​help car owners access their kayaks.  Whatever the reason, Citroen may be onto something here.

​2026 DAMD Isolator

Back to the 80's in GM style.

     GM set the stage for retro minivan design, when it released the original Astro van.  It may not have seemed cool at the time, but today DAMD seems to think it is, as they give is the retro inspired Isolator.  Guess the Astro van was a bit cool for its time, but DAMD, this one is better.

2026 Dongfeng Z9

Z is in the name and also its lights.

    Hyundai may be famous for its Zorro Insignia, but Dongfeng has done a Civic and Volkswagen. They have added part of its product name to the light fixtures.  Similar to the Civic - C and Volkswagen - R lights, Dongfeng has done one better by adding its letter to the headlights.  Maybe this was done to differentiate the Dongfeng from the Nissan model.

2026 Frangivento Asfan Diecidieci

Maybe its crabby about the long name.

      Something's crabby at FG and this time its not its bottom line.  With a dual release this year Frangivento has given us a car which shows how we feel when we are stuck in traffic with a powerful car.  Sure, the overall appearance of the Asfan Diecidieci is all over the place, but really its just a bit crabby about something.

2026 Hedmos 06

Zorro strikes in China as well.

     Even in China, Zorro leaves his mark, as Hedmos becomes an early target.  The "Z" character line layout has slowly become a feature on many vehicles, with China now borrowing this key feature.

2026 Pagani Codalunga Speedster

There's something a bit Alien about this rear end.

      Pagani may be looking at you in a different way, as the Codalunga Speedster seems a bit alien.  Hopefully the Codalunga comes in peace as we don't want to be probed.

2026 Raesr Tachyon Speed

Flightless bird for the road.

      What happens when you want to be a fighter jet pilot, but can't pass the vision test.  You get behind the wheel of the Tachyon Speed and fly down the highway.  Raesr may not be the first to gives us a fighter jet for the road, but they certainly have released the closest product to one.

2026 Renault Twingo e-Tech

​It's just so cute!

     We have all seen cute cars, but never from behind.  Sure, some have big rear ends, but never have we seen one with an Anime face staring at us while we're driving.  Renault wants to make things clear, that the Twingo may be a cute car, but this time around, it's going to be cute from both ends.

2026 Telo MT1

​Motherly robot.

     The Telo MT1 has been made for urban dwellers to transport what they need.  But when you sit down and take a look at it, you start to notice more about it.  This could be the vehicle which supports you like a great family, all while looking like your neighbourhood robot mother.
