2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
Chevrolet has gone a long way with is Cavalier name but it seems for this design change Chevy wanted to strip the car completely down to the ground and start over once again.
A change in the name is the biggest change of all for the once loved Cavalier nameplate but since Chevrolet had so many problems with the previous model they seem to find it fitting to change the name and start over again.  This new replacement for the Cavalier has come with some better and some worse changes, well at least better in appearance.  The front of the new Cobalt has a more aggressive stance compared to that of the ailing Cavalier.  With its more refined front lights and sleek looking hood line this replacement will definitely win the hearts of some tuners.  The new front lights give a more aggressive appeal but are a bit too big for a car of this size.  The addition of wheel flares to this little model gives it more of an aggressive appeal to a once boring design.
With wheel flares holding in larger tires Chevrolet has added bigger wheels to this little model and the rims they have used make a more sporting look for this sporty little mid-sized.  The corvette style taillights are a nice touch but they don’t really fit the image of this little sport coupe, where more conventional lights should have been added and the corvette lights should be left on the corvette and the SSR.  Next to the corvette style tail lamps this little car has a real problem with its rear and the dugout the sculptor forgot to fix.  The rear of this car is not fitting with the rest of the image the front portrays, and that the rear style was not designed well to fit this little car.  It is nice to see that Chevrolet has added its SS model to this new nameplate, which really gives this little sport coupe an edge in the tuner world.  With the addition of the SS model Chevrolet has added some new key features to this new SS.  With its skirt kit and large 5-point sport rims, this little SS will definitely win the hearts of the tuner crowd.  The sport look, which looks great on the coupe, is easily followed onto the sedan version, which finds itself not so forgotten in sex appeal.  Certainly Chevrolet’s replacement to the Cavalier is one step into the right direction for this once boring and simple mid-sized model from Chevrolet.
