2009 luxury Coupe & Convertible design ratings

Maserati GranTurismo
Considering that most executives and other wealthy people, like to take a turn driving, there has to be cars to get them places.  And most rich consumers prefer to use something with only two doors.  With an ever increasing demand for luxury cars around the world, there
would have to be something for that Sunday drive, or a car to get back and forth to work, without a chauffeur.  And for that we have our more exclusive coupes & convertibles.  These cars usually seat four comfortably and come with the best of the best features.  Do you really think a Kia would come with a navigation system or even access to the web.
Now for the best of the luxury marks, is one that has always impress the judges.  This auto company knows how to treat its clients with class, and how to give them something that looks like it’s at home on the track, as well as the freeway.  For this year we give the AutoLooks A+ award to the 2009 Maserati Grand Turismo.  Just the name says it’s a fun car.  Although most who drive it, would not know the significance of the name, it still embodies fun.  The Grand Turismo sets the standard for cars that make bad things look good.  For example the front nose is way too long, but that is hidden behind the swooping wheel arches, evil headlights and low front spoiler.  The wheels may seem average, but they do match the theme of the car.  As for the rear, the split between near the exhaust, makes the back look like its in two pieces.
For this years worst design, it was a bit hard, but after you see how feminine the car looks, it’s no wonder why it’s the worst.  From its pudgy snout, to its rounded rear the 2009 Mercedes-Benz CL really makes you wonder, is it really a mans car, or something for my wife.  Like the old CLK of the late 90’s, the new CL really shows off too many curves.  A couple of hard edges would make this car a bit more aggressive, and maybe a hood that does not look like its about to fly away too.  So for this year the CL takes the Rusty.
