2009 Sports & GT design ratings

KTM X-Box
Now this is a segment, which is always full of surprises.  This years turned out to be one of the most anticipated years for the Sports-GT segment.  From the launch of the VW Scirocco, to the anticipated GT-R release, everyone was waiting for something.  It seems that every year car companies have some new sports car for its consumers, or they announce they are working on a new one.
And this year was no exception at all.  With a few years of few releases and not so exciting models, it’s nice to see that companies still care about their consumers.
The only problem with a year like 2008, is naming the best of the anticipated releases.  And the winner this year, set the world on fire, considering it’s not even from a car company.  Who would have thought that car from a dirt-bike manufacturer would beat out one of the decades most anticipated cars.  So for this year we name the 2009 KTM X-Bow the AutoLooks A+ winner.  Nothing on this car says its ordinary.  From are custom seats to the protruding springs, nothing on the X-Bow says it’s going to follow the crowd.  It’s hard to think of any bad points on this car, but with every design come some flaws.  The only one the X-Bow has, are its front bumper.  It could have been curved a bit more instead of being a box added on later.
Now being a segment of wild cars, you still have to have one that does not fit in, all that good.  And this year we had to name the 2009 Hyundai Tiburon the Rusty car of the year.  Although it is a good design, it is still sitting on an old platform.  The biggest problem with the car is the front air vent.  It could do without the crosshairs on it.  One way this could have been changed, would be to go with a more open front end, like the one on the Lancer Evolution.
