hatchback Over the past few decades we have seen many car companies enter this segment as a way to attract new consumers to their other models, or to just expand their model line and profits. Within the past decade we have seen a major move by almost every major automaker, to have a sub-compact car. Today consumers have an array of choices as well as body styles. The biggest problem for most automakers, when they entered this segment, was how to make a tiny car look good. Well AutoLooks has compiled their list of the new sub-compacts this year, and 2008-2009 model year was one of the best looking so far. This years AutoLooks A+ award goes to one of the best-looking sub-compacts of all time, the 2009 Opel / Vauxhall Corsa hatch. Its little sister the Agila followed the Corsa closely. Opel has done and excellent job making sure that this little pocket car really stands out in the crowd. You cannot mistake the Corsa for a competitor, and you certainly cannot believe that this little car comes from an average car company. Most people would expect to see a design like this from a sports car manufacture not someone who has ties with GM. For this year Rusty, AutoLooks thought it would be fitting to give it to the car that looks like the short fat girl at a wild party. This honour would have to go to the 2009 Hyundai i10. It feels odd to give this award to a company, which, just release the great, looking Hyundai Accent. But when you gaze at the i10, you really start to wonder why, why would anyone release something so plain and boring. The only real fun in the design, are sort of aggressive headlights. But this overshadowed by large front grille. Everett J.
