Chevrolet Blazer
Yes we can all say it now, the new Blazer is a dud and even with its Camaro inspired front, it's still a far cry from what we remember of this great name.
I guess two of the big three have forgotten their roots as now both Chevrolet and Dodge have both diminished the souls of some of their great names.  Yes back at the turn of this century Dodge decided it would be funny to use the Charger nameplate for a sedan.  Sure it's hard to hurt the image of the 69 Charger, but even with all the new sedan has to offer, it's still no real Charger to us.  And like this it seems that Chevrolet has followed the same path with the all new Blazer. Sure it has great looks which are borrowed from both the Nissan Murano and Chevrolet Camaro, but still it's no real Blazer to us.

If you can remember as far back as us the original Blazer was one of the few true competitors to the original Jeep CJ (Wrangler today).  And like the CJ and Bronco of its time, the Blazer was something that all beachcomber and bush boys were into.  But like the Charger it seems that Chevrolet has set out to tarnish the good name of the Blazer.
Sure this new model is in line with that of the late 90's models, well at least in size and girlish figure.  But even back then this model was still seen as rough and rugged mud bogger.  I don't really think any of us would think of taking this new model out into the bush and run it through any type of mud or climb up any rock hills.  We would be too concerned about twisting the uni-body and having too scrape the vehicle.

No to us Chevrolet, this new Blazer is not something that brings back any memories of good times in the bush.  Well unless that bush is what you would call a decent Beaver from the bar.  But no really this isn't something that we look forward to having any fun in and we all hope that Ford isn't going to the same with the Bronco nameplate.  But hey they can still screw up the Mach5 name as it has been chosen for a new compact SUV model.
