sub-compact luxury - hatch
The 2019 Cooper still has the same outline and standard design features as the previous models. Sure it says it's new for 2019, but really how new is it when you still have the same profile. Mini believes that they can sway us back into the Mini ring with a few more sport features. Sure the lower direct port air ducts are a great feature but do they really work. And adding a black bar to the front grille is way over done. We have now seen that on everyone else's cars. No if Mini really wants to wow us with a cool factor, maybe they could come up with a whole new grille design. It would be great to see that large mouth bass finally get caught and eaten. Out back there really is no difference between this and the outgoing model. Mini has yet again decided to keep the same old tail lights, rear window and bumper profile. Sure they worked before, but show us something that is new and fresh. Would be nice to see a whole new rear on this model. Mini could have brought in the size of their lights and flattened out the tailgate. This could have made the rear a bit more appealing then something created over a decade ago. The overall appeal of this car has not changed, but consumers may soon change their mind on it. Adding some cheap plastic to the side of the car is a good way of making people believe that it's tough, but really is it. No we want to see a whole new Mini the next time it's updated. If VW can pull the plug on the Beetle, then Mini maybe should pull the plug on this design. And besides this is 2018, it's time for a change.
