2024 Hozon Auto Nezha E - Design Review
With the coupe market being whittled to near non existence today, its nice to see that some companies still have a bit of faith in it. For Hozon, that faith may work to their benefit, as the Chinese marketplace is fairly lackluster in this segment, especially within their home-grown products. Now with the growth and reductions in automotive ownership in China, this could be the time to attack the secondary market with something a bit more fun. Up front this little coupe makes it well known that its not here to be nice. With an over-the-top aggressive look, the Nezha E coupe not only gives you the feeling of power, but will make everyone else on the road know that you mean business. Utilizing thin Ferrari FF style headlights along sporting some fake hood exhaust ports, the front end of this coupe really makes a power statement. All of this is not without its faults, as this aggressive front utilizes a bit too much plastic. This overuse is plainly seen within the side gills, as this oversized feature becomes the focal point for the front. Toning down both the size and material use would help ease the appearance of cheap plastic here. Hozon should have used the same pattern as the lower intake for the gills with only the hard plastic as an accent. Riding along the side, Hozon has done a beautiful job flowing the front to the rear. Clean flowing lines along with a floating roof, give the side the appeal of being fast even when it is stopped. Add to this a near perfect side splitter and you have the makings of a clean, sporty coupe. A few more dark touches could have made this product a lot better. Less aluminum on the wheels and an off-colour window accent really take away from image of this vehicle. Blending in the window accent and blacking out the rims, would add to the aggressive appeal first given to us up front. Along with this, Hozon could reduce the size of the side mirrors as well. Out back Hozon has carried on with their sleek aggressive appeal with a smooth flowing roofline which meets the rear with ease and comfort. With a clean lip spoiler, which is not oversized, unlike most sedans these days, the rear decklid breaks away to let the rest of the rear stand out on its own. Hozon has done a great job turning the rear of this car into a true sports appeal, as they have not left out any major feature here. The addition of a lower splitter, fake gills and small diffuser, the rear of the Nezha E is more than your standard coupe rear. This product blends the best of the sports car world into a standard coupe beautifully. But Hozon could have toned down the size of the gills just a bit, as they really do stand out. This decrease in size could then be added to the rear diffuser, as it is all too small to make a real difference to the airflow at high speeds. Hopefully these two area's will be adjusted if the Nezha E lives to see a second generation. Overall, the Nezha E coupe is sure to turn a few head when it hits the streets this year. With hardly any competition from their home-grown competition, this little aggressive coupe is sure to win the hearts of many secondary vehicle owners, as China moves into the two-car driveway future. Let us just hope that this car lives to see a second generation, one with a few changes to make it rate a bit higher on the AutoLooks scale. Everett J. #autolooks COMPETITION:
