If you have ever wanted to take a tour down memory lane without a tour guide, you should take a trip down I94 in Detroit. Head east towards Lake St. Clair, and take the Mt. Elliot Street Exit and head south (turn right) onto Mt. Elliot Street. Take Mt. Elliot Street to the intersection of East Grand Blvd. and turn left onto East Grand Blvd. Now head east and look for Concord St. and turn left onto it. Now if you look off to the left, you will be looking at the remnants of the once great Packard Automobiles Plant. If you wish to take a tour of the plant, then find a spot to park, hop the fence and start scoping out the 3.5million square foot facility. You will find many different hallways, underground tunnels, walkways and office's to see. It may take a few days to visit, so bring a tent and spend a night out under the stars of what was one of the biggest and best automobile plants of the early turn of the century. If you wish to see some pictures of what you may find at the plant, then check out the link below.
