Rise of the CUT Market

Fiat Toro
Seems that there is a rise in the truck market.  No not the mid-size, or even full size market, the SUT market.  Yes there is a new market within the truck market and it is the rise of the "Sport Utility Truck" or SUT conversions.  Yes we all thought this was a joke when Honda released the
Ridgeline, but it's no joke now.
With the rise in demand globally for trucks, added to the increased restrictions on fuel consumption and it seems that the joke is over.  Yes we all have seen the demise of the true SUV which has given way to the CUV and now it seems the next market to lose are the mid-size truck market.  Of course this has already been changed in the compact truck market, but really were compact trucks really trucks to begin with.  Seems the future is looking bleak for the world of body on frame vehicles and that our children will never know the benefits of frame cars and trucks.  Lets just hope that the full size truck market can survive the energy crunch.
