2014 Honda Brio Amaze

​​    With a final score of 45%, the new Brio Amaze is a sure fire winner of our Rusty Award.  Next time Honda should take a history lesson and look back their most successful cars.  They may see a pattern between design and profit.

        If Honda is serious about bringing back the feeling of a fun sub-compact again, then they should to back to the drawing board.  The biggest problem which plagues this car is the fact that it has one too many curves.  This creates a bubble effect which in turn makes the car seem bulbous.  If Honda is serious about making this model a segment leader they should lose the over sized bubble lights and replace them with a string quartet of LED lights.

        You have to give it to Honda though since they did try to add in a bit of fun with the oversized aftermarket inspired air ducts.  Now if we can only get them to drop a ground effects kit and some wire wheels, we would have a true winner.

    Bad: The front is a two part series with the rest of the car

    Good: Smooth clean lines and great use of chrome
    Bad: Flat and tall rear window

    Good: A bit of sport appeal with the indentation
    Bad: No kick in the window design
Overall Appeal: D+
    Good: Some key dimples and indents add some sophistication to this car
    Bad: All too common outline and appeal
