It may have been bred in South Korea, but it will still be known as a Chevrolet. From the beginning the Aveo / Spark had a lot going for it and the best part was what was going on up front. For 2015 Chevrolet designers thought that it would be best to discard the best part of this car and add in some bubbles. I guess when you watch a little too much bubble guppies with your kids, it starts to get to you. When you see all of those bubbles you start to think they are cool. Hey no one ever said a basic Beetle was a sporty cool car. Up front there really isn't much to say, except why. Why would you take away the eccentric headlights and drop in some bubbles. That was the worst thing they could have done with this car. The new grille, fog light ducts and hood divots can stay, but the new lights will have to go. When this is done, Chevrolet may be able to get back their 70% rating on this car. Out back not much has changed, and this is a problem, since this is where the changes should have been made. Someone could have put the lights on a diet and made them thinner. This would have left some free space between the lights and the truck lid. Then in turn making the rear less busy. The side could have used a diet as well, with the wheel wells being trimmed down a bit. And maybe they could have done away with the apparent body line which hugs the wheel wells. A smooth edge here could have added more sport appeal and less basic to this car. Overall the new Aveo is a long way from where it should be. Maybe next time around Chevrolet will get it right and make this car a winner in the small car market. Everett J.
