Full Size - Truck Well it comes as no surprise that the year that the Mustang turns 50, that Ford would change its bread and butter vehicle. Too bad someone told them that they should of added some jam to this bread and butter. Up front the new grille from the Atlas concept from last year, was a great fit. Too bad that was the only good change up front. The highly noticeable bumper and all too simple duct design, tend to take away from something that could have been much more. Out back Ford has left their miniscule bumper alone, but has added a chrome fin to the centre of the tailgate. This chrome feature is something that will take most people some time to adjust to. The lack of proper naming and logo placement also make it hard for those behind you to take notice. Of course maybe this is part of the plan. It seems that Ford to take notice that all of the lines along the side of the truck are the same as the last decade. Maybe a bit less wheel flare and some more body indentations could have made this more of something from this century. The worst feature along the side are the very bland looking door handles. Maybe something from Lincoln should have been used instead. Overall the new F-150 is a better change from the current model, but it still wasn't enough to put it further up the truck ladder. With Toyota bombing and GM soaring, you would think that Ford would make the number 1 truck out there the trendsetter. Too bad that job has been left up to Dodge and Nissan now. Compare to the competition, the new F-150 sits in the middle of the pack. Everett J.
