2015 GMC Canyon

Mid-Size - Truck

GMC Canyon
With a final score of 68.26%, the new canyon is sure to make a major impact on Toyota's sales.  It may look all new but the new Canyon still has some aspects from the past.  These aspects could have been left in the past.
If you are one of the people who miss the good old days of mid-size trucks, then your luck is about to turn around.  It seems that at least Chevrolet and GM are serious about taking back their market from Toyota and Nissan.  Too bad the other two of the big three have no major plans yet.

Up front the new Canyon is completely new, from the bumper to the windshield, nothing has been kept from the previous model.  The new meant for business grille is the best change of all, making this new mid-size model more powerful looking than the competition.  The one downfall to the front end is that GM made the fog light duct too high up and too small.  Making it at least 3/4 of the size of the space available would have made it look a lot better.

Outback the new easy access bumper makes it easier for anyone to get something from the box.  Of course this out weighted by the use of the 1980's Sonoma lights and too much plastic.  The plastic makes the rear look a bit cheap and the lights could have been setup better.

Along the side the new Canyon adds on some model lines, making a very rugged yet sporty look.  The window lines form the Colorado could have been changed to meet more of the Canyon's rough and rugged appeal.  Losing the swoop at the rear of the back window could yes, make it look more boring, but would fit this model a bit better.  Too bad they forgot about the chrome trim as well.

Overall the new Canyon is sure to win the hearts of many of GM's customers.  Of course those may be the customers who have been waiting for the truck to return.  With its new look the Canyon is sure to take some of Toyota and Nissan's market share away from them.  And if the new smaller F-series looks anything like the new F-150, GM will not have anything to worry about.
