2024 GMC Sierra EV - Design Review
From front to rear, the new Sierra EV displays what we have come to expect from the brand. Good hard lines and a powerful image have been kept alive through their transition into the EV world. But that is where the truth ends, as the Sierra EV and its Denali nameplate have been robbed of their premium and luxury titles. Sure, they can maintain the identity of being a premium truck compared to the Silverado, but where is are the acres of chrome which usually adorn this nameplate? In keeping with their image, GMC has done a great job at utilizing key aspects from there main line. Oversized lights, running boards and tire and wheel combo, have made a home on this great truck. But without any chrome accents or an in your face style grille, this Sierra is just another EV truck. Utilizing the same platform as the Hummer and Silverado EV, the Sierra in no way tries to hide this. With a similar profile as both, this product only adds on a new front and rear clip, which help differentiate from its siblings. Too bad, as we have come to expect some form a differentiation between Chevrolet and GMC. Guess, the mid-cycle refresh will have to be the win for this head of the game, as the consumer market may become confused between the difference of the Sierra and Silverado.
