2022 AutoLooks A+ Award Winner Is......
Ferrari always seems to be at the losing end of the stick. With feminine curves and a true lack of either character or hard edges, they have always played second fiddle to Lamborghini on the AutoLooks list. But for 2022 the brought us the Daytona SP3, which perfectly blends old with new, hard with soft and some great attitude. All in one simple package. The Daytona name also holds strong in the automotive world as well. Being attached to some the sexiest Ferraris of all time. And the SP3 really lives up to its name well as it blends the best of both worlds together and gives a new image of automotive perfection. But of course our list wouldn't be complete without a Lamborghini near the top of the list. This year three (3) Lamborghinis made the list and our runner up this year is also a retro inspired product. Lamborghini has outdone themselves with the release of the 2022 Countach LPI 800-4. But don't think that you can get one, as they are all spoken for. This along with it's name and one amazing design, will make this a future classic for sure and put a hefty resale value on it. If you thought the re-release of the Countach was odd, you're not alone. As we remember how Lamborghini once said they won't get into the retro game. This was just after the release of the Miura concept back in 2006. If they are going back on their word, could they give us the Miura along with the new Countach. Our 2022 list was still made up of mostly high performance vehicles, with the exception of one (1) muscle car, one (1) speedster and one (1) touring car. I guess the world's best designs only come from the fastest vehicles on the road now. Our closest standard product to the top was the 2022 GAC Trumpchi GS8, but it only managed 74.07%, keeping a standard product off the top list. All around 2022 was not a great year for the top of our list. The amount dropped down to eleven (11) models from fourteen (14) last year. Along with this we only had five (5) models crack the 80% mark, which puts 2022 in the bottom half of the A+ Award years. I guess when the world is making drastic changes, it should be expected that design suffers. Let's just hope this won't last forever and here's to a better 2023.
