2026 Rusty Award
The best of the bottom is where this years winner has always been.  From the time they released their first vehicle, they have never been able to move themselves off the bottom of the design pool.  But in all reality, this formula has worked for them, as they have managed to survive, even with one of the industries worst dressed lists.  Maybe this years award will help them rethink there future endeavours.

and the 2025 rusty award goes to.....

2025 Rusty Awards
Simple may be the answer to getting a product to market quicker, but when you entire lineup is made up of this formula, it may be time to rethink your strategy.   This years winner is not only a winner when it comes to bad designs, but an overall company who can't make good design decisions.  But when it comes to changing the way they play the game, will they be able to do it?

And the 2024 Rusty Award Goes to........

Rusty Awards - AutoLooks
Re-releasing a product is one thing, but when you do it on an even cheaper level years later, that is a recipe disaster.  This years winner of our famous Rusty Award, has brought back a previous rusty list contender, but with one added twist.  This time its done at the bottom end of the price chart.
Entry level products always seem to end up on our list and this year was no

AND THE 2023 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO......

2023 Rusty Awards
A bad version of a product is one thing.  But when you re-create it as bad as this years bottom end winner did, then maybe you are just meant to win for the best dressed at the ball.
The ball in which is automotive design always has winners and losers.  But for 2023 model year, it seams that the bottom end of the spectrum has gotten worse.  AutoLooks has gone through many......

And the 2022 Rusty Award Goes To......

AutoLooks Rusty Award
When it comes to proper model utilization this years winner sure chose the wrong model to utilize.  Using a product that already hits our list of poor designs, this EV changeover is no different.  Not to mention this design is decades old and was bad when it originally came out.
So, hold onto your hats as we reveal this years bottom end winner............

2020 Rusty Award

AND THE 2020 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2020 Rusty Awards
2020 seems to be a better year for design, as our bottom end is a bit shorter than last year.  With a 2% decrease in the worst designed vehicles amount, it seems that companies are finally catching on.   And to top if off, this years Rusty winner only won one award this year.   Seems they copycats are getting better as our top spot only goes to the worst design, not a copycat of the worst design.

AND THE 2019 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2019 Rusty Awards
It has happened before and it seems to be happening again, as our Rusty winner this year takes both awards for poor behavior.  Earning those awards wasn't hard for this years winner, as it is as plain as the screen in front of you on how the won both of them.  And again this years winner also hails from the copycat country of the world.

AND THE 2018 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2018 Rusty Award
Every year it seems that our worst of the worst has gotten worse.  Sure that's why we call them the worst of the worst, but really you can't get much worse than this year.  I know last year the winner was a square box and a copycat, but this years winner is a mid-cycle refresh to an already horrible model.  And that's not the best part about the worst,  it came with its sibling as well.

AND THE 2017 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2017 Rusty Awards
2017 worst may have been a slight change from other years.  We not only had two top winners, but we also had a knock down vehicle win our top award.  This probably helped the OX from being the top winner on its own.  Its accomplice was none other than a copycat and again from China.  Sure this should come as no surprise as China has become a hotbed for knock off automotive designs.  This is evident on our Copy Cat list below.

AND THE 2015 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2015 Rusty Awards
Compared to 2014, the 2015 model year seems rather bland and boring.  Sort of like the cars on our worst list.

For 2015 it seems that most automakers forgot that there is a year between 2014 and 2016.  The lineups for most automakers will not see many major changes until at least 2016, with only a

AutoLooks "RATED" is where we rate and review vehicles from around the world from every segment of the automotive industry.  Our 1,215 point system is based on Four (4) key areas of automotive design.
AutoLooks rates the Front End, Rear End, Side and Overall Appeal of each and every new vehicle from around the world.
If they rate above 75%, they receive our
    A+ AWARD for design excellence.
If our rating system turns up a score below 45%, then that model will receive our RUSTY AWARD of design failure.
And don't think of borrowing to many design features from another company, or you will wind up taking home our COPYCAT AWARD.  This award outlines which model they are borrowing from and how close they are to the original
At the end of each year, AutoLooks puts together all of the their information into one easy to read article which outlines the best, worst, lost and new products from each year.
So join us on our journey of automotive criticism and take a look on our RATED pages to see how well each company, segment and model fair against their rivals.
