2014 Rusty Awards

AND THE 2014 RUSTY AWARD GOES TO........

2014 Rusty Award
Well if you thought that a year end review would be finished with only a 10 best list, then you need to reconsider.  Yes AutoLooks is not only letting you know who the best is, but who is the worst and which ones you should avoid.  We have some of the worst models on the planet which someone thought you would purchase.  The dumb thing is that people actually purchase them.
Well lets make sure that those companies are aware of their dumb ideas and hopefully they will learn from their mistakes.

RAted: 2014 Toyota Vios

For 2014 our choice was not the oddest looking or the vehicle with littlest amount of features. No our award went to a vehicle that had the smallest amount of attitude and had barely any attention to detail.  It was one of those models which was made to fit a slot in the marketplace and we wish they would have filled it better.  Yes, the AutoLooks 2014 worst design would have to go to the 2014 RAM ProMaster.

RAted: 2014 Renault Scenic

A van that shows no sign of life at all.  Even adding on some custom parts would still make this van look as dull as it is.  Now add in the fact that the ProMaster is at home in 1980's, 1990's and 2000's.  Sure it could be cool to stretch your design across three decades, like the beetle, but at least make it something known to be cool across three decades.

Rated: 2014 Mitsubishi Attrage

Our worst design is based off of a design which shows a lack of actual input being put into the design.  Sure some of the models on the worst list are ugly, but they still serve their purpose.  The only purpose of the ProMaster, is to move your companies goods from point A to point B, and that is it.  It is not made to be an aftermarket workshop or even a racers drear.  Just made to move people around.  That may have been the idea of cars 100 years ago, but today, you  have to make a model appeal to at least two markets.

For 2014 we hope that RAM will realize that your car needs to have a soul, and not just be a hunk of metal with an engine.

    About

AutoLooks "RATED" is where we rate and review vehicles from around the world from every segment of the automotive industry.  Our 1,215 point system is based on Four (4) key areas of automotive design.
AutoLooks rates the Front End, Rear End, Side and Overall Appeal of each and every new vehicle from around the world.
If they rate above 75%, they receive our
    A+ AWARD for design excellence.
If our rating system turns up a score below 45%, then that model will receive our RUSTY AWARD of design failure.
And don't think of borrowing to many design features from another company, or you will wind up taking home our COPYCAT AWARD.  This award outlines which model they are borrowing from and how close they are to the original
At the end of each year, AutoLooks puts together all of the their information into one easy to read article which outlines the best, worst, lost and new products from each year.
So join us on our journey of automotive criticism and take a look on our RATED pages to see how well each company, segment and model fair against their rivals.
