Let's do it already Infiniti brand new company can release their own sub-brand within a year, you have to start to wonder why. Why doesn't Infiniti just step up to the plate and bring their Eau Rouge or Project Black S label to market. Seems that every major luxury maker out their sports their own performance label, with some even have multiple sub-brands. BMW we all know has the M sub-brand, but they also have "performance parts" monikers that are found on some of their more desirable models. Mercedes has AMG, Lexus the F-Sport and even Genesis has the Sport sub-brand and they only arrived a few years ago. But Infiniti still doesn't have anything for their lineup, but it's not like they haven't been working on one. As far back as 2014 they have been playing around with the idea of a performance sub-brand and this is even after playing around with the Nismo brand for awhile. But let's remember that Nismo is attached to Nissan and it would be better to separate it from Infiniti. So why doesn't Infiniti do it already. Well that's a good question for them and maybe Mercedes. Yes we did say Mercedes, as they have become an engine supplier for the Nissan and its brands. Maybe they have their own reasons for not letting them move forward, similar to that of Ford stopping Mazda from creating the Amati brand, but maybe their not toying with Nissan. Maybe it's just Infiniti being scared about jumping into the same pond as AMG, M, F-Sport, RS and even the AMR lineup. Or maybe it's something deeper than that. Whatever it is, all we want to know is how come they just don't pull the plug and move this product to production as they have received much fanfare for their models. And add to that their current aftermarket following for the G35, Q50 and Q60 nameplates and you have the right grounds to move this into production. But hey what do we know as we are only consumers of these products and it could be that this marketing ploy is working for companies like Chrysler, Lexus and even Acura. If Infiniti ever wants to become a real competitor to the major luxury makers and not another player in the Premium field, it needs to step up its game and jump into the aftermarket pond. Without this attached image to their main brand, they will be nothing more than another Premium brand competing against Lincoln, Acura and Chrysler. Let's do it already Infiniti! Everett J.
