The presidential limo in all its glory

Should Canada adopt a similar look as Russia

Challenger Production
By now all of you have heard about the new Aurus Cortege Limo which was built for the soul purpose of being President Vladimir's official ride.  It was commissioned by the state and the President as he wanted to be able to move around in a Russian built vehicle.  This was due to the fact that previously he had been using a German made Mercedes S-Class.
Seeing that most of the G20 rulers have limos which were created within the confines of their country, Vladimir wanted the same for his country.  And why not, as Russia was originally part the G8 and still is one of the great super powers of the world.  So why build their own presidential limo?  Well the President had gotten tired of moving about in their German made vehicles and wanted to show the world that they too could design, engineer and build their own luxury motorcade.  And what a better way than through the state office.

Now back in Canada we are seeing this and now starting to wonder why we're not doing the same.  Sure were not known for any major auto companies like Russia with Lada and UAZ, but we are still home to one the largest auto parts manufacturers (Magna International).  And being that we are one of the top three (3) auto producing nations in the world (based as a percentage of population), then why don't we.  Well that's a good question for the Prime Minister.

Back in earlier 2000's there was a plan by the government to use our Canadian built Bombardier airplanes for our Prime Minister as it was seen as a way for us to promote our own technology and company.  But like most of our great ideas, this one never made it passed that thought.  Funny how even today (July 2018) we are still using a U.K. built Airbus which is over 30 years old, to move our Prime Minister around.  Seems like we should have pursued the thought of using our own products as our current plane is having more and more issues due to its age.

Now getting back to motorcade issue, in Canada we tend to utilize vehicles built by our American partners for our Prime Minister.  Using either a Chevrolet Suburban or Cadillac DTS to parade around our Prime Minister seems odd for a country which is so connected to the automotive world.  Even if we don't use our own purpose built vehicle, then it would be nice if we could at least use one built within our country.  For that it we could use a Chrysler 300, Lincoln MKT or even a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.  Now that would be better as a Hellcat would really make an impression on the rest of the world and make them really think that we know how to have fun.

So if your like us and you want to see this happen, then let us know through the link below.  It's time for a change and it's time for our government to stop dragging their feet about this situation.
