Canadian Critical Minerals Deficit

Podcast Episode: 0198
Where are the Mines we need for the new Battery Plants?

Canadian Critical Minerals - autolooks
How do you build a manufacturing plant without securing the raw materials you require?  Canada thinks they have an answer to this question with their new battery plants.  But can they catch up to the manufacturing process in time to keep their own economy circular?  AutoLooks will take a look at this question on this podcast.

Mining in Canada has been a long venture and it seems that even today, this venture is still going strong.  The only difference today being that we now know what we have and where quite a bit of it is located.  So, why are we still looking at what we have when we are pushing through manufacturing plants which require these minerals?

Government intervention plays a key role when setting up a new mine, and when the government drags their feet through the sand, this process can be a lengthy one.  This is what is happening in our northern parts of our country, as the Canadian Government drags out the implementation of new mines to feed the manufacturing sector in the south.  With new mines, refineries and even the infrastructure required to access these areas, carrying a long wait time.

E.A. studies, indigenous affairs and construction costs play only a small pare in the implementation of new mines.  With the addition of more red tape and less government funding to get these projects off the ground, the critical minerals deficit in Canada is growing faster than the new manufacturing hubs in the south.  But what can Canada do to help out both parties with this issue?

AutoLooks takes a look at how the investment into accessing the minerals we need for the future can grow and how we can gain access to more faster.  We know what happens when you move to fast, as our home city is scared from this process.  But that doesn't mean we have to move at a snails pace.

So, follow AutoLooks as we take a look at the Canadian critical minerals deficit and how we can fast-track these projects for a better future.
