How the Chevrolet Impala became an icon

Chevrolet Impala
Chevrolet had an incredible car at one point, but time was not on its side.  How did Chevrolet let the Impala die a slow death?  AutoLooks takes a look at the history behind this icon, to see where Chevrolet went wrong and how this great icon came back to die a slow death.

Starting life off as a sport model of a pre-existing vehicle, the Impala nameplate came to be its own model out of a need for change.  Moving through the sixties and seventies without losing track of its origins, this nameplate would eventually be replaced by its own alternate offering.

As with most great products, the eighties were a time of loss and confusion which gave way to the changing nineties.  With a second coming as its original intention, the Impala nameplate would once again take over for another product offering.  But, could it ever regain its glory days?

By its end, the Impala nameplate had become a shell of its once great self.  Without a coupe, convertible, wagon or even its SS performance offering, this once great product would eventually become just another car.  As with most great products, the Chevrolet Impala has become less of itself and more or a product offering of need.  So, follow AutoLooks as we take you back to its beginnings to see if you can find out where Chevrolet went wrong with this once great car.
