Where did the Dakota go?

   Why is that RAM won't bring out a new Dakota, when the mid-size market is heating up?  Are they playing it safe again or just falling behind.  AutoLooks takes a look at the life and times of the Dodge Dakota to see if we can unlock why RAM won't bring it back.

    Dodge has always been a company who has been a bit late to the game.  Sure, they have had some great products even with being late, but they still show up at the last minute.  The original Dakota was one of those products, but even with being late to the party, it still made sure that they were the life of it.

    Over the first decade the Dakota lived a fruitful life, being the go to truck of the mid-size market.  But like most greats, the party would eventually be over, as this great would soon lose track of its badass past.  Moving along with the odd designs of the Daimler days, the Dakota would soon lose track of its personality and become just another truck.

    Could this life of the part return to the market today, as the RAM brand is one of the more successful offerings from the Stellantis group?  Maybe it could happen, or maybe it will be replaced by something new.  All we can tell you, is that the possibility of a return is still up in the air, but a rebirth of its predecessor may be closer than you think.
