Episode: 0088

DMC-12
John DeLorean was a visionary with a great dream.  A dream to build the future of the automotive world and send us into a brighter future.  But, like most of us, his dreams came crashing down in the end.  Although his story of how he and his company can to be, are to great to just leave alone.  And as usual AutoLooks wants to take you on a journey to see where the DeLorean name has gone.

The DeLorean name may not be as big as General Motors or Chrysler, but its image has lasted longer than most of the vehicles on the road.  John DeLorean had a vision and although his vision had a horrible ending, he never gave up on it.  His endurance to keep his vision alive, is a story for the history books, but there is more to this story than meets the eye.

BLOG: TRIBUTE TO A FALLEN FAMILY MEMBER

DeLorean's story is more than just the fall of his vehicle, as his own back history has a lot more to it than just the company attached to his name.  He proved his worth at a young age and was one of the pioneers of the muscle car era.  Through his vision, GM managed to meet or exceed the demands of the marketplace.  But with his own vision and the politics of corporate life, building his own company was more important than building sales for a less visionary company.

CORPORATE WEBSITE: DELOREAN MOTOR CO.

With a harsh corporate climate his vision moved off track and in the end, it never wound up being what he wanted.  A sting operation eventually brought down his vision, but that didn't stop another visionary from picking up the fallen pieces.  Today DMC is back and about to release a neve vehicle for the future, but can this nameplate live past its car cult following.  Only time will tell us.
