Podcast Episode: 0109 |
The future of the way we travel is changing and so is the infrastructure which supports it. But how can the city, suburban and rural areas best benefit from this new onslaught of technology. All three districts have their own set of values for transportation needs and requirements, so how can we update the infrastructure to best suit each of these areas?
Similar to that trolley effect which we are now learning about for autonomous vehicles. The infrastructure required for each specific area has its own set of needs, which the others may not require. Today we must update our infrastructure to best suit how the technology of the future will change and shape our communities to best suit our specific needs.
Cities will require the most change with rural life being less interrupted. But that doesn't mean that rural life will not change. We must include for more delivery options in all three as more of us work from home. With this the requirements for more dedicated lanes for all areas will be required. But unlike its city cousin, the back roads may not require as many upgrades.
Today AutoLooks takes a look at how this future may look and how we can change our infrastructure to best suit it. With every change to our vehicles, a similar change must be made to our infrastructure. And with ever changing technology these days, this will be more relevant for future construction of our infrastructure.
