What the "Frunk" is with all of this storage Space?

    Supercars use to be the only product out there that had a frunk, but with the rise of alternative vehicles, the frunk is moving into your everyday vehicle.  With the loss of the space hogging I.C.E. powerplant, designers are utilizing this extra space for new storage compartments.  But how far can they go with storage?

    It seems that Volkswagen once again is a pioneer when it comes to utilizing space within an automobile.  From the Microbus and its spacious design, to the two (2) trunk Type 3, VW seemed to be great at managing space.  Now with the rise of the alternative fuel industry, we are seeing more usage of the space left behind by the removal of the internal combustion engine (I.C.E.).

​    This is nothing new as some manufactures have been playing around with storage space for decades.  Dodge had the stow-n-go seating and dash cooler, Honda has a trunk in the bed of the Ridgeline and RAM has storage compartments built into the side of their box.  But as we remove the engine, transmission and drivetrain from the old I.C.E. system, we are left with a lot more room to fill.  That is where this Podcast comes in.

     Today manufactures like Tesla, Rivan and Bollinger are utilizing all of their extra space to add more storage.  Some of these new storage compartments are great, as seen by Bollinger and Rivan and then some are just odd.  Tesla put the suburban world on their feet when people started seeing children getting out of the truck of the Model S.  But that was only due to the fact that this product has both a frunk and trunk.

    With most manufactures today always looking for new ways to make their product stand out, it's no wonder why many of the alternative fuel vehicles are doing what I.C.E.'s cannot do.  Let's just hope that they don't go too overboard.
