Is there an Auto Indsutry in Ireland?

    Does Ireland have an auto industry and how has it contributed to the automotive world?  AutoLooks takes a look at the Irish auto industry as a whole to see how it helped shape the auto industry in Europe and had ties to one of the largest auto makers out there.

    Ireland may be home to Guinness Beer and U2, but it is also home to some things you may not expect.  Like many other European countries, Ireland was once home to a vibrant and growing auto industry.  But unlike the major players in the E.U., Ireland has lost nearly all of its industry.  So, how can this little island nation still be known for its influence into this world?

    Most people may know Ireland as the Emerald Isle, home to luscious green fields and rolling hills.  But its influence on the auto industry is greater than just a once great manufacturing hub for entry into the European Union.  Ireland has also played a role in the global introduction of the Volkswagen Beetle, being the first entry point for the Ford Motor Company and hosting an F1 team which gave one of the great ones their initial step into his world changing career.
