Episode: 0087

2020 Artega Karo Isetta EV
Copycats are famous around the world, but what about the vehicles which are intentionally brought back in the image of a previous model.  It seems a few companies are doing this today to help bring back some past favorites.  While some are made by other manufactures with the original companies blessing, others carry a resemblance to the original.  AutoLooks takes a look at this new market to see why companies are doing this.

Retro inspiration started to become part of the automotive market back in the late 90's and now it seems that more and more companies are starting to jump in.  But why?  Those ideas have been done before, so why should we try and relive the past.  Nostalgia markets come to mind and as this generation seems to be more inspired by the past, then making a new future of design.

Podcast: Evolution of the Civic

This may not seem odd as we have had the rebirth of the 300, Camaro and now the Nissan Z, but today new companies are using old designs to help break into the market.  Now this may sound familiar as we all can name a few companies who got their start by building off of someone else's product.  The difference for today, is that these product platforms do not exist anymore, so a few of these products are being built from scratch.

Podcast: Hyundai's Luxury Rise

So, why would a new company use a design from the past to launch itself.  That is the question AutoLooks takes a look at on this podcast, along with how a few big players are bringing back some of the more famous designs in a new way.
