Can our Infrastructure survive the Weight of EV's?

    How much longer can our infrastructure hold out without a new source of income?  EV's are heavy and so was the rise of the SUV world, but how will we be able to maintain this infrastructure in the future?  AutoLooks is here to take a look at what is happening and how we may be able to help.

    For the past few decades most cities have started to notice that their infrastructure has started to deteriorate more rapidly.  Could it be that we are just using worse products or are the construction companies doing bad work.  Well, there may be some truth behind those ideas as well, but we are starting to notice that the vehicles on our roads are getting heavier as well.

    The rise of the SUV craze of the late 90's quickly followed by our new love affair with trucks, started to show us how weight could be an issue on our roads.  Never before had so many heavy trucks been on our roads pushing our infrastructure to new limits.  Add to this a reduction in revenue from upper levels of government and poor quality construction work and you have the makings of an infrastructure deficit.

   Today that deficit is growing and now with the addition of overweight EV's on our roads, it is only going to get worse.  Yes, EV's are a major concern now, as their weight for most products, far exceeds that of what their I.C.E. counterparts weigh.  And with no tax revenue from the EV marketplace, this deficit is only going to get worse.

    So, what are we to do about this deficit.  Should be start taxing the EV marketplace over what our gas tax is on fuel, or should we find another avenue to repair our roads?  This is one of the many questions which AutoLooks will look at on this podcast episode.
