2009 Anteros Coupe design review

2009 Anteros coupe
The fist of our new batch or even breed of luxury coupes and convertibles is another coachbuild company, trying to see if someone will buy into a luxury Corvette.  So, for that I would like to introduce you to the 2009 Anteros Coupe & Convertible.  These two new arrivals are a welcomed change, but really are they a welcome change to the Corvette line.

It seems that everyone these days is using a base corvette to build their dreams.  But if I were to build my dreams, I would “A” not use a Corvette and “B” not try to get into the highly competitive luxury car market.  Sure, a new luxury car is good for some, but when you’re competing with the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin, then all I have to say, is good luck with that.

These companies have years of experience and very deep pockets.  Now if you’re still wondering why I say that this car should have repositioned itself, then this next bit may change your mind.  For starters, why would you ever put an oversized chrome grille on a sports car.  All it does is add a nose to the front end.  Next either lose the side air ducts, or make it into one large duct.  Now if you take a look at the rear of the car, you don’t have to look to hard to see its major downfalls.  Ugly lip spoiler, too many curves, odd looking taillights, and an oversized rear window.  Yes, this car is a nice change, but how nice is it really.
