2010 bMW X1 design review

​            If you ever thought you would see the next SUV from BMW, then here it is.  After over a decade of contemplating it BMW finally released their X1 small SUV.  Considering it took them along time to bring out the X3, it wasn’t a surprise when the X1 finally appeared.  Of course, if BMW had released it a couple of years back it 

may not have done as well, but then they might have perfected the design.

        One of the biggest problems with this design is one which seems to be making its way onto more and more auto’s today.  That is the nose front end.  Sure, it works on some cars but on a BMW, it really looks like a snout.  And added with the headlights which look like eyes, the snout is really noticeable.  The next downfall to the X1 is the extensive use of plastic.  I don’t know why so many companies are reverting to plastic, but it is really starting to annoy me.  Why might you ask, well plastic usually means cheap and makeshift.  If you add plastic all you are doing is lowering your brand image.
