With a slow recovery and an added new friend, it seems that the SUV market will be staying with us for awhile longer.  Although it may not be as strong as it once was it still has something that the crossover market doesn’t.  And that is an aftermarket world.  With a shift from off-road fun to family mover the SUV has come along way to the models we now have.  Although most of the SUVs within the aftermarket world no longer can venture off roads, they still have style of that off road adventure.

It still seems odd that Cadillac or Lincoln still has not created an aftermarket sport version of their top SUV’s.  Considering that Cadillac and Lincoln’s biggest SUV competitor has had an aftermarket version since the early 2000’s, it’s a wonder why the two Americans don’t want to fight back.  Well, it seems that the Swedish don’t want the British and Germans to have all the fun since this year Volvo has finally released its R-Design to the SUV playing field.

Who would have ever thought twenty years ago that anyone would ever make an SUV that handles better than a sports sedan and looks as good as a sports car?  Well now that that time is upon us, it is time to hold onto the moment, since it may not last too long.  Of course, many people thought the pocket rocket craze would fizzle out after a few years but with gas prices heading up it seems that more an more people are just happy having fast looking people movers.

This year’s winner comes to us from a new company and a new country to the mix.  For 2010 we have to name the 2010 Volvo the XC60 R-Design the AutoLooks A+ winner of the year.  The main reason being that Volvo made sure this model looked fast and flowed right.

Now for a model which never seems to get the picture when it comes to changing there look.  So, for 2010 we had to name the Range Rover the Rusty model of the year.  The main reason for this is because it just seems that Land Rover really cannot get out of the seventies and join the rest of the world in new age design.
