2010 SAAB 9-5 design Review

2010 Saab 9-5
Now for a car which has seen more red and green lights, then a dragster during a season of racing.  The 2010 Saab 9-5 may or may not be a new car for 2010 and that is why it may either be something good or something bad.  But either way it goes, all I know is that its not going to look good.  Saab is well known for creating very odd-looking sedans, and
the 2010 9-5 isn’t something that will change this image.  Unlike the previous 9-3 of the early 2000’s, the 2010 9-5 is a car which will change the image of Saab for the next decade or the next year.  Some promising features with this car are that it does embody the soul of a fighter jet, but unfortunately it does not embody the look of death that a fighter jet does.

Coming from a company, which builds fighter planes, you would expect to see cars, which have very jagged edges and one bad ass look.  But in this case Lamborghini has already done that.  So next you make the car as aerodynamic as possible.  Now that is what Saab has done here, but of course doing this creates a bubble car.  The 9-5 does look fast, but it does not look great going fast, or standing still.

The new 9-5 is a very bland looking car, which needs something more to it.  Maybe a hood scoop or some flat edges would help.  The biggest problem with this car is that the roof looks like it is completely separated from the rest of the car.  With a windshield that stands tall, to a thick c-pillar, everything on top of the body is a bit off.  But that is what makes a Saab a Saab.
