2010 Sub-Compact

2010 VW Polo
Now everyone knows that small cars have been around since the 1950’s, but never has this segment been so big.  Every year, more and more models enter into the ever-growing Sub-Compact segment.  This could be because most Sub-Compacts are usually entry-level cars for most companies, and that they are relatively cheap.
Well if you guessed so, then your correct.  If you travel outside of Canada, Australia or the United States, you will find that the rest of the world has seemed to embrace small cars.  This could be because, gas is more expensive in certain parts of the world and that most emerging markets would have a harder time trying to get consumers into the automotive market, with a car priced around $30,000, as apposed to a car priced around $5,000.

For this year we have added three new companies and have a total of nine new sub-compacts.  It is nice to see new companies and new countries enter the list of AutoLooks, since the article is called the “World Car Review”.  Unlike some other publications AutoLooks likes to look at the entire world, not just Japan, Europe and North America.

Now for this years AutoLooks A+ award we have to give it to the model, which made the best stride in points and the most changed, and that, is why we named the 2010 Volkswagen Polo the AutoLooks A+ winner.

And with that comes the winner of the Rusty, and for being the most outrageous and most alien like car on the road we award the 2010 Daihatsu Materia the Rusty.
