2010 Subaru Outback design review

​            It seems that when Subaru was under GM’s rule that it had a better chance of keeping its sport image.  Now that it is under Toyota rule, the designs seemed to have gotten a bit more conservative and odder.  Nothing bad about Toyota, just that it seems that since 

they have taken control of Subaru, that the designs of Subaru have diminished.  Take the last WRX and compare it to today’s WRX.  See the difference, one looks like a rally car, the other looks like a Corolla.

     Now when it comes to the Australian inspired 2010 Outback, there might be more concern about the new design direction.  Of course, it seems that this new direction is working since Subaru is one of the only companies to turn a profit in 2010.  But really, you’re going to get rid of that sporty looking Outback for this oversized, alien inspired, Camry wagon.  The biggest problem with Subaru’s new design language is that horrible looking front grille.  Its just one large out of place piece of plastic.  And really it should be replaced with something inserted into the car, not sitting on it.
