2010 autolooks Year end Review

Year End Review: 2010

Well, it has been a scary year for many people within the industry.  With closures of plants, to whole product lines, 2009 has been a very scary year.  But now that most of the bad being either turn to good or have been washed away, it is time to take a look into the AutoLooks crystal ball, and see what is headed our way in 2010.

This year AutoLooks is making some changes to its format, since the 2009 article was the beginning of something great, 2010 will be the starting point of the that great thing.  Added to the new changes from last year, AutoLooks this year will be diving head first into all of the cars on our list.  No more looking at just the best and worst, this year we want to tell you what everyone is either doing right or wrong.

For 2010 some segments have disappeared, and no we did not get rid of them.  They just did not have enough cars to cover, since it is hard to compete with your-self.  So, if some automobiles seem out of place, they have been moved to a lower or higher segment, but will still have the proper segment name added to them.  And with that said we will now introduce these years’ segments.

There were 31 total segments first introduced for this year’s article, but only 27 segments have been filled with enough competitors.
This year’s segments are as follows:
  • Micro
  • Sub-Compact
  • Compact
  • Mid-Size
  • Full-Size
  • Hatch
  • Wagon
  • Small Luxury
  • Large Luxury
  • Small Aftermarket
  • Large Aftermarket
  • High Performance Aftermarket
  • Coupe & Convertible
  • Sports & GT
  • Luxury Coupes & Convertibles
  • Muscle Cars
  • Supercars
  • Van
  • Crossover
  • Luxury Crossover
  • Small SUV & CUV
  • Mid-Size SUV & CUV
  • SUV & CUV Aftermarket
  • Truck
  • EV & Hybrid
  • Sports Saloon
  • Premium

So now if you’re ready to see what the world has in store for 2010, just sit back, grab something good to eat, maybe take a bathroom break, and get ready for these years look at the best and worst, of the year to come.

Well, it’s been another banner year for new cars, with new segments being created and new limits being pushed.  With a record number of new companies arriving on our pages and brand-new companies being born this year it seems that 2010 is going to be a banner year for the auto industry.  Yes, I did say that this year will be a banner year and well we are right because with the financial crisis over with and most countries starting to see a decrease in unemployment, it is not hard to see why some segments will flourish while others will diminish.

It seems like the past ten years have been all about trucks and SUV’s, but for now it seems that sedans and crossovers are now taking over.  But when most crossovers are based on cars its not hard to see why sedans are starting to make a comeback.

Well, I would like to thank all of my listeners and would like to welcome you to the new AutoLooks.  We are going to be making some major changes over the next year and you will just have to check by often to find out what is going to happen with the AutoLooks name.

Until next year all AutoLooks fans a thank you for your time and your criticism.
